The Sound Of The Ocean

I have been many places
I have seen many things
Tasted sweet and the sour
Both in Autumn and Spring

I have stood in the limelight
With accolades and rewards
I have tread into darkness
Against all flags and all swords

But now I’m bathing in sunlight
At the end of the day
The Tiki Bar’s Open
Here in Montego Bay

How the moonlight becomes her
With flowers in her hair
As the scent of hibiscus
Perfumes the air

It’s the sound of the ocean
While the moon is so high
You can reach out and touch them
Those stars in the sky

When the waves lap the shoreline
And the trade winds are fair
Your travails and your troubles
Vanish into thin air

We will sleep in the morning
It would be futile tonight
The Tiki Bar’s well stocked
And the Jerk’s a delight

And in the tropical moonlight
I will walk in the sand
With my Caribbean baby
And a mudslide in hand

A  Montecristo Perfecto
And a bit of alright
No I will not go gently
Into that goodnight

But now I’m bathing in sunlight
At the end of the day
The Tiki Bar’s Open
Everything is okay

Yes now I’m bathing in moonlight
At the end of the night
The Tiki Bar’s Open
Everything is alright
