Plug

HOME
You were lying in the sand
You were getting-getting good and tan
I was playing in the band
You stood up and gave us all a hand

You pulled up in your car
I saw you come into the bar
I recognized you from the beach
I thought that you were out of reach

You hit me like a drug
Like plugging in-plugging in a plug
Your looks I really-I really dug
You could see the smile on my mug

You then walked right up to me
Your intentions I could clearly see
Of which I did-I did agree
Just what will come-what will come of me

We sure must have been a sight
In my arms you felt just right
We were higher than a kite
Never ever had such a night

I tried to call-call the next day
They had said that you went away
I wished-I wished-I wished you had stayed
But it was me –me that got played

I wished-I wished-I wished you had stayed
But it was me-me that got played

Commentary

This song was known as either "Plug" or “Got Played” by the band.
It is something I dreamed up after a gig on the Avalon NJ, beach.

There were quite a few bikini clad beauties walking past the band stand and sunbathing in front of us.
It’s not out of the realm of possibility that one would fantasize about what might happen given the right circumstances. Only this fantasy ended with a twist.  This time the Bass player gets played.
