Hell To Pay

Just what were you thinking
And what were you drinking
Now there’s hell to pay
You’d better kneel and pray

She was so young and so sweet
Her dress was so pink and so neat
Now she’s so still and lifeless
Just like your bloody knife is

Now you must run and hide
Go try and catch a ride
Your life is now on the run
Out of control your life it has spun

Far away you’re living a lie
Earning a buck without any pride
You can’t go home ever again
Cause you know that your life soon will end

Over your shoulder you’ll always be looking
This cold case you know will be cooking
Right now you’re on the loose
But you know someday you’ll face the noose

Now there’s hell to pay
You’d better kneel and pray

Commentary
“Hell To Pay”
popped into my head after watching an episode of Cold Case Files.
No, I’m not a murderer!
And I’m not looking over my shoulder!
Sincerely,
Joseph Smith
