Doc Holiday
I throw caution to the wind
I throw caution to the wind

Born in - Griffin - Georgia in the summer of 51
Cloudburst - March 1st - Philadelphia dental school is
done,
Adieu -’ 72  -hung the shingle in Atlanta’s humid
breeze
TB -takes me-  won’t be doing any dentistry
       Oh no
We are here and it is now,
Heeding the call of the west,
We are here and it is now,
All else is moon beams at best,

Rambler- Gambler - Wyatt Earp was a  close ally
Undone -  Six gun - Big nose Kate is the apple of
my eye
No tears - No fears- I will never stand aside
Tombstone - My home -  The sporting man & the
working girls pride,
       Oh no

       I’m a man who understands  we’re here until we’re
dragged away,
I’m a man who understands every day is all fools
day

Hey caballero - I’m dealin’ Faro - Try your luck against
 my skill
If  Hell’s Belles don’t swallow you whole,  well
  Boot Hill  surely will!
All the gringos at Johnny Ringo’s   have a low
 survival rate
       The whiskey’s risky  - The corral’s O.K. - but the
Birdcage theatre’s great
       Oh no

I throw caution to the wind - I throw caution to the
wind
I throw caution to the wind - I throw caution to the wind
I throw caution to the wind - I throw caution to the wind
I throw caution to the wind - I throw caution to the wind

We are here and it is now,
Heeding the call of the west,
We are here and it is now,
All else is moon beams at best

I THROW CAUTION
   TO THE WIND

This song is indeed about Doc Holiday  of Tombstone, Arizona fame.

    A man who was fearless.

Tuberculosis caused him to lose all his dental patients.

    He became a western legend.

Who better to represent throwing caution to the wind?

The idea of a frontier has always been intriguing.

To be someplace before all the trappings of civilization arrived , both
 pro & con

must have been both amazing and difficult.

    Where is the frontier today?

    Gone .

Where can we go if we don't wish to do the bidding of industry & finance.

Where can we live deliberately by our wits?

Let me know if you find such a place.

Actually my favorite line in the song is

"We are here and it is now"

because that is all we can possibly know.

    What else is there really?

Before there was a Hollywood, even before there was a game of baseball,

the most popular pastime in the country was the card game of FARO.

The Earp brothers played it and Doc Holiday certainly played it.

Yet today not many of us even know what it is.

Well, here is a great link to find out first hand what Faro is.
